Instructions

The Redheads® Torch is a high-performance tool designed for reliable ignition and precision flame control. Whether you’re charring vegetables, caramelising desserts, lighting a fire pit, or tackling DIY projects, this torch delivers consistent results with ease.

Engineered for control, comfort, and safety, it features an adjustable flame, built-in ignition, and a secure bayonet connection.

Just attach a certified 220g butane cartridge (sold separately) and you’re good to go.

Please note: This pack does NOT include butane gas.

What’s included:

  • 1 x Redheads® torch (compatible with standard 220g butane gas cartridges – bayonet fitting only)

Use it for:

  • Lighting fireplaces, BBQs, and fire pits
  • Cooking and baking (think crispy toppings and charred edges)
  • Soldering, crafts, or repairs around the house

Ensure safety by using this appliance in well-ventilated areas only. Never use it in enclosed spaces such as caravans, tents, boats, cars, or similar places, as it may lead to carbon monoxide poisoning and serious harm.

Use only Butane 220g cartridges certified to UL147B or EN417 with this appliance. Attempting to fit other types of gas containers may pose hazards.

Keep gas orifices clear of debris like dirt and cobwebs. Ensure that air can flow freely through the appliance’s perforated parts for proper combustion and ventilation.

Avoid exposure to flammable vapours, liquids, or materials like gasoline, wood, paper, plastics, and other combustible substances that could ignite.

Remove the butane cartridge when not in use. Do not puncture, pierce, or incinerate the cartridge, even when empty. Dispose of empty cartridges safely in accordance with AS/NZA 1596 guidelines.

How to assemble your Butane Gas & Torch Kit

  1. To begin assembling the appliance, start by removing the cap from the cartridge.
  2. Turn the flame control knob fully to the closed “right” (clockwise) position.
  3. Align the cartridge collar notch with the locating pin on the torch and press down firmly while keeping the cartridge upright.
  4. Rotate the torch body clockwise until it stops.
  5. Remember to only use cartridges equipped with a bayonet fitting for proper assembly.

How to use your Butane Gas & Torch Kit

For ignition and operation:

  1. Slowly turn the flame control knob to the “left” (anti-clockwise) high position to initiate gas flow.
  2. Pull the auto ignition trigger located at the centre of the torch until it clicks to start the flame.
  3. Repeat this step until the torch ignites.
  4. Adjust the flame intensity by turning the control knob between the “right” (low) and “left” (high) positions as required.
  5. During the initial 20-second warm-up period, ensure the appliance remains upright to prevent flaring.
  6. To shut off the torch, securely close the gas supply by turning the flame control knob fully to the “right” (clockwise) low position and hand tighten.

After using the appliance:

  1. Allow it to cool before separating it from the gas cartridge.
  2. Ensure the appliance is clean and dry before storage.
  3. Once the cartridge is separated and the cap replaced, store the appliance in a cool, well-ventilated location.
