Instructions

Redheads® BBQ Briquettes are crafted for the ultimate BBQ enthusiast, offering a clean and consistent burn that lasts up to 5 hours*. Made with 100% natural binders, these additive-free pillow briquettes deliver a high heat output ideal for BBQs, kettle BBQs, firepits, spit roasts, open grills, pizza ovens, and BBQ smokers. They burn hotter and longer than traditional briquettes, ensuring you need less for each cooking session, saving both time and money.

Available in convenient 3kg and 4kg bags, they’re your go-to choice for effortless outdoor cooking adventures.

(*Results may vary depending on factors including ventilation and overall charcoal volume utilised)

Keep it out of reach of children and store in a cool, dry location away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames, and any other sources of ignition. Never use BBQ fuel inside homes, vehicles, or tents. Burning BBQ fuel indoors can be fatal as it emits carbon monoxide, which is odourless.

How to light your BBQ

Open Grills

  1. Prepare the Grill: Place Redheads® BBQ Briquettes or Charcoal directly on top of Redheads® Firelighters.
  2. Ignite the Firelighters: Carefully light the firelighters.
  3. Wait for Ash: Leave the grate undisturbed for about 20 minutes. The briquettes or charcoal are ready when a layer of grey ash covers most of them.
  4. Spread Evenly: Once ready, spread the briquettes or charcoal evenly over the grate.

Kettle BBQs

  1. Setup the Fuel Tray: Place 2-4 Redheads® Firelighters on each side of the fuel tray.
  2. Add Briquettes/Charcoal: Position Redheads® BBQ Briquettes or Charcoal over the firelighters.
  3. Ignite and Burn: Ensure vents are open and the lid is off. Ignite the firelighters and allow the briquettes to burn for approximately 20 minutes, or until covered in a layer of grey ash.

Using a Chimney Starter

  1. Load the Chimney: Place Redheads® BBQ Briquettes or Charcoal into the large side of the chimney starter, ideally enough for one full layer across the cooking area.
  2. Prepare for Ignition: Place 2-4 Redheads® Firelighters under the chimney starter where it will be placed.
  3. Ignite and Heat: Carefully light the firelighters and place the chimney starter right side up directly over them.
  4. Burn and Spread: Let the fire burn for at least 20 minutes, or until the coals are covered with grey/white ash. Using oven mitts, dump the briquettes or charcoal into the grill and spread them evenly over the grate. Replace the top rack and wait 2-4 minutes before starting to cook.
